About Us
Berenguer Woodworks was founded by Jose and Lia Berenguer in 1993. Jose grew up in Spain among some of the best european woodworkers (los Romeros) which for many generations have been handcrafting fine furniture throughout all Europe. Jose's dad, a masterbuilder and carpenter taught him many good principles.In 1986 Jose came to the United States to study in college and in 1988 married his wife from Seattle Washington where in 1993 the business was formed. They have 5 boys and 1 girl. Among Jose's customers are several microsoft project managers and executives, dentists, doctors, stockbrokers, interior designers, etc. In 2003 Jose won 1st place & Best of Show in arts and crafts juried section in a Seattle suburb (Federal Way). At the end of 2004, they moved the business to upstate New York on the Sodus Bay of Ontario Great Lake and live in a big 5 bedroom house perched on a hillside surrounded by apple orchards, hardwood trees and a beautiful view of the bay.
Jose is a passionate woodworker who enjoys designing and building custom cabinets and furniture of the highest quality possible. He uses only the finest of woods that he hand picks,and precision european hardware. All the pieces are under a lifetime warranty.
